As the sun begins to set a little earlier and the crisp autumn air starts to create the perfect footballing atmosphere, we find ourselves on the cusp of another exciting season in the UK. From the electrifying excitement of the Premier League to the grit of the FA Cup, all eyes are on the pitch as clubs prepare to battle it out for supremacy. This season promises to be particularly thrilling, with a flurry of managerial changes and an influx of players that signal a new chapter for many teams.
The transfer window has been buzzing with activity, and it’s clear that clubs are gearing up to make their mark this season. From marquee signings to shrewd loan deals, teams have been busy piecing together their jigsaw puzzles in preparation for the challenges ahead.
Not only have established clubs bolstered their squads, but newly promoted teams like Ipswich Town, Leicester City, and Southampton also find themselves with unique challenges and huge opportunities. They’ll be looking to prove that they belong in the Premier League, and you can bet they’ll throw everything they have into every match.
So let’s jump into my predictions for the Season Ahead.
My top three for the Premier League are:
Manchester City will take 1st place. – Manchester City has been dominating the football for a while now with their amazing style of play and relentless performances. I believe that the 2024/25 season will be no different, as I predict City will win the league and they will win it with games to spare under Guardiola’s leadership, marking his fifth straight league title and the team’s 13th league title overall. Additionally, I think Manchester City will also win the Champions League.
Arsenal will take 2nd place. – It’s undeniable that Arsenal has plenty of talent, but I don’t believe they have that extra something special needed to challenge Manchester City. Although they have been competitive in the past few seasons, I think they will drop points unnecessarily this season. While their defence is arguably the highest quality in the league, I believe they need a world-class striker to take the league, I could be wrong but I just don’t think they are the on the same level as City.
Liverpool will come in at 3rd place. – It’s a new era at Anfield as Arne Slot replaces Jurgen Klopp in charge of Liverpool. The squad remains solid, and I believe we may not see a drop-off in quality compared to the Klopp era this year. However, I just don’t think this will be their year!
My bottom three for the premier league are:
Nottingham Forest will finish in 18th place. – I lived near Nottingham Forest for many years, so I have a soft spot for Forest. I always hope they do well, but I don’t think they will season. They barely survived last season, so I’m not confident about their chances and I believe they’ll relegated back to the Championship unfortunately.
Southampton in 19th place. – Southampton has not been very active in the transfer market this summer, and for me I don’t think the squad has what it takes to remain in the Premier League.
Ipswich Town will finish bottom of the league. – I think it will be a tough season for Ipswich. Don’t get me wrong, they have made some big signings, bringing in players like Kalvin Phillips, Omari Hutchinson, and Liam Delap. However, something tells me they are headed for a quick return to the Championship.
FA Cup Winners:
Arsenal will win the Fa Cup. – The Gunners have won the cup 14 times. Whilst I think Manchester City will put their efforts into making history in winning5-in-a-row, something that won’t be beaten for many years to come! This leaves the FA Cup for the second best side in the Premier League. I believe Arteta will help Arsenal break through the drought they have suffered and win this competition.
Carabao Cup Winners:
Newcastle will win the Carabao Cup. I think Newcastle could win the Carabao Cup! They are a strong team and deserve some long overdue top-flight silverware.
